Happy Wellness Wednesday!
My name is Tiana Brawley, aka The Wellness Bae, and I am the founder and Certified Life & Wellness Coach of SoulFree Wellness.
I am so thankful that you are a part of this community, planning to join this community, or simply passing by. Wherever you may lie on the spectrum, I am grateful. I wanted to take some time to say welcome! I would like an opportunity to share some authentic and raw thoughts on this journey of wellness. I believe that vulnerability brings about connection, and it is my desire to strengthen the SoulFree Wellness community.
It's the *top* of the year, and indeed, we have started this year after the wild, chaotic, traumatic and dramatic year of 2020. Doesn't it feel nonstop? Do you feel mentally, physically and emotionally fatigued? Not feeling like yourself at all? Or maybe you are just dragging your feet, smiling through the anxiety and discomfort of an unknown foundation that we call society.
I'm with you. And I am here to admit that… in many ways too… I am both lagging and dragging! Trying to find my footing. Trying to create content, serve my clients, stay inspired, practice my wellness routines, etc. It’s a lot to hold and bare. Even for a Wellness Bae. But today...as I type this piece (The sun is basking on my melanin skin as I am working in a fabulous and peaceful backyard), I feel a weird sense of peace as I grant myself permission to just flow with ease. It doesn't mean all of my problems disappear. But it absolutely means that I can give myself a break, allow myself to breathe, to make mistakes, and to give room for repair. What are you going to give yourself permission to do today? I challenge you to flow and ease into all things that you need for yourself as you "permission grant" and cut yourself some slack!
Here, I've provided some examples of how you can give yourself permission to flow and ease…
- I give myself permission to not look or have everything “put together”
- I give myself permission to wake up just a little bit later!
- I give myself permission to make mistakes (You are NOT the mistake!)
- I give myself permission to not “get started” right away
- I give myself permission to indulge in pleasure, even if it’s temporary.
You see! Giving yourself permission does not mean you do not have a sense of accountability. It means that you are flowing and easing into your humanity - with all your imperfections, quirks, beauty, and light. Take some time to flow and ease into all the things that may feel challenging, uncomfortable, unsure, and stagnant. Give yourself permission when you are feeling good, inspired, and at peace! I hope this resonates with you today on this Wellness Wednesday.
I'm here and available.
Love always,
Wellness Bae
